Waxing …. so now what ???
Yeah it’s tuff, we hear you…. no Waxing, no IPL…. and it’s beginning to show.
Whilst we cant help you by actually treating you….when can give you tips until we can wax you again ….yay !
Body hair removal, or lack thereof is a personal choice.
But whatever routine you choose, chances are it has altered somewhat due to the spread of COVID-19.
For those who have been waxing for years I’m sure many of you are wondering how to maintain your progress without undoing all the time (and pain) you’ve put into all those years of waxing.
Our best advice …. and you may not want to hear this ….. take this time out to grow out your hair and allow it to go through its natural growth cycle. Allowing hair to reach its full length will make the next waxing experience more effective, because there won’t be any little hairs trying to get through.
In other words, do not shave.
Yes you heard us ….. ideally we don’t recommend shaving between waxes, as waxing removes hair from below the skin surface and promotes a slower, lighter regrowth over time than shaving does.
If you have to shave, only shave the sides of your bikini line, this way you will still feel groomed but you’re not starting your waxing results from scratch when you can come and visit us again. Also feel free to trim with a small pair of scissors or trimmer if you one.
Yes well that’s all well and good you say…. But what about when it comes to your eyebrows???
Feel free to tweeze any stray hair to keep your eyebrow shape. Try not to go too close to your arch so you don’t alter your shape. Less is more when you begin to tweeze your caterpillars… oops I mean eyebrows!!
Waxing, as with any other hair removal process, poses the risk of ingrown hairs and irritation, so the best practice right now is maintaining or commencing a regular skin care and exfoliation routine. Ideally exfoliate once or twice a week with a good exfoliating glove. https://cloverbeauty.com.au/product/exfoliating-glove/
We understand it’s frustrating and it makes you feel ‘yuk’. But remember this is only temporary, and by following these exfoliating and maintenance tips, you’ll be in good shape once you’re able to start getting back to your regular appointments.
And we can’t wait!
